The Glasgow City Region has been transformed by research and innovation in recent years and the Innovation Accelerator funding recently announced by the UK Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) into 11 ambitious local projects is set to further accelerate the Region’s booming innovation economy. Led by Innovate UK on behalf of UK Research and Innovation, the £100m Innovation Accelerator is providing a boost across 3 city regions to growing jobs, skills, and the economy. The third of the programme’s investment into the Glasgow City Region will ensure that Glasgow realises its ambition to be Scotland’s economic powerhouse and one of the most important centres of research, development, and innovation in the UK.
