Levent Gurdenli

Levent is a commercial Energy and decarbonisation lawyer, with a strong track record of delivering projects for clients in the UK and internationally.

Levent regularly advises developers, funders, asset owners and contractors on solar PV, onshore wind, storage and energy from waste projects. He has facilitated the deployment of low carbon MWs onto the grid on over 40 transactions, utilising a range of deal structures, commercial models and helping clients to develop commoditised solutions to generate repeat business.

Levent also works closely with organisations taking strategic steps to reduce their carbon footprint and to improve their long-term energy security, an increasingly importance issue for all private and public sector stakeholders. He is particularly active in the rapidly expanding market for corporate power purchase agreements, having acted for both generators and offtakers on a large number of both offsite and onsite PPAs, and regularly advises property developers on innovative district energy projects to supply low carbon heat and power to mixed-use developments, having worked on such arrangements for a number of high-profile developments in London and the UK.

Levent has a particular interest in the evolving ESG landscape and helping clients to improve their sustainability impact, having recently completed a business sustainability management course at the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership. He is a regular speaker and contributor on the renewable energy circuit and is interested in the development of renewable energy policy to help speed up the transition to net zero
