Jen is the Senior Engineer for Wilderness Sensors, based in Stewarton, East Ayrshire. Wilderness Sensors started as a CivTech 2.0 Challenge with Historic Environment Scotland, focusing on measuring visitor footfall at unmanned locations. Tackling limited mobile connectivity and off-grid power constraints, the outdoor Wilderness Footfall units send directional footfall information and detailed climate data into their Cloud Analytics platform in real-time. This data is changing how HES manage their sites and is helping them drive new business models.
Jen has over 11 years commercial software development experience with a strong R&D focus. She has worked in a number of large scale innovation projects, from FinTech involving accelerated computation of financial risk, to SpaceTech data analysis for space-based gravitational wave detectors.
