Christine’s passion for diversity and empowerment led to the creation of Stepping Up Diversity Leadership Programme as part of One City vision for Bristol. Stepping Up has scooped National Awards including the prestigious CIPD People Management Award Overall winner, PPMA, LGA. 300 diverse leaders will have completed the programme by end 2021 Sister programme “Horumar” for Somali Women has made significant impact within the Somali community during Covid. Featured by BBC News, 60 Somali women have graduated from the programme, many setting up their own social enterprises.
Stepping Up is supported by an eco-system of over 100 partners offering support and mentoring – including global corporates such as Cisco Systems, Google, HP, Mitre, KPMG and EY. Partners benefit by improving their CSR, ED&I and ESG targets. As part of a global network – partners and participants work as an eco-system supporting the environment contributing to the United Nations Sustainable development goals.

Public Sector Leader Prior to embarking on her journey as a social entrepreneur Christine was Director in the Welsh Government Health and Social Services leading organisation transformation, health reform and leadership development She held budget responsibilities circa £10 million and led Parliamentary Bill team. She later progressed to become also Director of the Leadership Agency for NHS Wales delivering improvement in leadership capability and patient care.
