Alexander Weir has a B.Eng. Electronic and Electrical Engineering (first class) and an Engineering Doctorate from Heriot-Watt University. He has over twenty years of software development experience with a range of companies, including British Aerospace and Cadence Design Systems. In 2010 he branched into healthcare technology with NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, where he was Technical Operations Manager at the Medical Devices Unit, and a member of the European Commission working group on mHealth assessment guidelines. In June 2017 he joined Canon Medical Research Europe, where he is a Senior Technical Manager with responsibility for the AI Research group.
